Boatman's Spread

This spread is directly inspired by the arthurian myth, more specifically on the end of the saga, with the agony of Arthur and his moving to the Holy Isle of Avalon. As the story goes, Arthur was wounded, and worried about the future of England, tells so to Morgaine, who in the spot prophetyse about Arthur coming back when the country most needs it to save his homeland. The boat arrives, the body of the king is put aboard, and is taken to Avalon to wait asleep for the moment of his return.

The cards must be spread as follows:

Avalon
The Head The Boatman Morgaine
The Wound

The Wound
It shows us the querent's basic problem: generally, we must read the card with it's most negative meaning.

The Head
It tells us about the worries of the querent, that might or might not be related to the previous card.

Morgaine
Gives us a prophesy for the future.

The Boatman's
It shows us the means to get to the desired end, or through which we get to the resolution.

Avalon
The final resolution.
