The Third Line
The Spiritual Path
When finishing the previous line we were just about to step into the world of the supernatural, the Angel as a promise of
our best side had already been brought forth into light. But every Angel has it's Devil, every light
it's dark side, and this dark side is the one we'll be exploring on this last part.
The sequence of the last cards is as follows:
We start facing the Devil himself, a card that scares most and is most of the times misunderstood.
With him, here we're taking about nothing other than our dark side, that one we're scared of bringing forth, fearing we might
fall it's victim, even though it's so necessary we face it to go on. And it doesn't stop here: right after facing that dark
side so feared, lighting strikes the Tower that is our ego, anihilating everything we thought safe
and integral part of us, only to leaving nothing but a solitary figure, the remains of our Self.
That same Self that, free at last of every misconceptions it might have, takes a rest and regains strenght, aproaching the
final ascending road in the Star, a path that goes from the darkness present in general in this last
line to the luminosity present in the last cards. The Moon offers possibilities to detour from this
end, as under it's light things are tricky, and we could take them as if seem under real light, taken as certain and final
the ilumanation we gained in the previous card. If we conquer fear and follow the road, next card takes us into the
Sun, with one or two children symbolising the possibilities the future offers, and rebirth after the last ordeals.
This rebirth is explicit in the previous to last card in the whole series, Judgement, that shows
us the image of Judgement Day and Resurrection of the Flesh, where our Self finally emerges from the Earth, new and ready for
the world. The last card, the World, shows us thus a fulfilled, balanced individual, beyond all social
and worldly ties, and as that, floating in the air, in a joyous dance as he's finished what in analytical psychology is called
"Individuation Process".
