Beliefs |
There are many pages available dealing with the basic wiccan beliefs, some of them superb, so instead of posting to the net yet another one, I'll center on some topics that are a bit forgotten, or mainly avoided. Please check the Links page for other pages. I personally recomend the Universal Church of Eclectic Wicca for a good account on the main beliefs for the ecclectic tradition. Before going on, we should keep in mind that Wicca is subdivided in several "traditions" like Dianic, Gardnerians or Faerie, that even though having a basic common ground, differ mainly in the names which they use to call on the Gods, as well as the way they celebrate their rites. But regardless of all these differences, the core of it remains the same, except maybe in Dianic traditions where they only revere the Goddess. In the next pages we'll take a look at the Festivals or Sabbaths and their equivalence on both hemispheres, as well as a problem quite common nowadays, that is, the witches alerts and the clash with christianity. Still under construction and soon to come are pages on the Goddess and Her three aspects as Maid, Mother and Crone
